If you're planning to study, do Ausbildung, or settle in Germany — learning the German language is your first essential step. A Language Visa allows you to stay in Germany for 6–12 months to study German in a certified language school.
What is a Language Visa?
A Language Visa (Sprachvisum) is a national long-stay visa (Type D) that allows non-EU citizens to enter Germany exclusively for the purpose of learning the German language.

Duration & Language Level

Visa is granted for 6 to 12 months

You must enroll in an intensive German language course (minimum 18–20 hours per week)

Courses are usually from A1 to B2 or C1 level, depending on your goal

After finishing your course, you can switch your visa to study or Ausbildung (if you meet the requirements)

Financial Requirement
